Greetings all! I've been (unfortunately) super quiet here for months... this whole work thing really gets in the way!:(

Anyways, finally got around to painting up the smoker, pics attached. Of course, the second I paint it and call it "done" I've got this hankering to add.. go figure! :D

I have a 60 gallon upright compressor tank that I'm trying to figure out what to do with. My initial thought was to make an open face charcoal grill that was either independent, or mounted to the front of the smoker. The more I'm thinking about it, I feel it's wasted effort, so here's my thoughts:

1) Open face charcoal grill
Great for making sticky ribs, quick burgers and hot dogs, sautee veggies etc.
Seems like a ton of work for something I could do with a simple weber from box stores

2) Auxiliary cooker
Is there a way I could "pipe" off of my RF firebox to create a removable vertical cooker?
Might be a pipe dream but seems like it could be good in an event where my cook
chamber fills up and need a few extra square feet.

3) Removable warming chamber
Perhaps the most ambitious idea. Pipe off top of firebox and mount compressor tank horizontal. Baffle plate across bottom to disperse heat evenly. could also double as charcoal grill if really desired.

Thoughts? Also promise to be more involved moving forward!!!

I added a charcoal grill to mine so I could grill hotdogs and stuff along while smoking some BBQ.
I thought about piping into the fire box but just made it stand alone.

How thick is the tank you have. Having a charcoal grill attached to it to use while smoking is great. But you make a good point about a grill. If you had the room on the back where your firebox is located then a warming box would be nice and comes in very handy. You just have to decide what is more important. You could also just put a burner on the front if you want to be able to cook something on a pot etc.
