Hey guys. Pretty sure I am buying an RT-700 today. I know they have great reviews.
Few questions for you guys who own one.

1. How is the smoke profile?
I like to cook around 225 - no higher than 250 unless doing poultry
2. Second shelf large or small or both?
Thinking (in some cases) meat could go on the second shelf and sides could sit under to catch the drippings for flavor..

thought?

Congrats on your decision, I have read great things on this pit. Some of the Rex tec guys will be by soon to answer those question.

In my opinion the smoke flavor is great you can tell it's there without being overpowering, definitely gives you a nice smoke ring too. I'm still new here and don't know how to link my posts but I recently posted about a pork butt that I cooked as well as some baby back ribs that you can take a look at and see for yourself how they turned out. So far I love mine and can't wait to try new things with it. I got both the large and small racks for mine but have yet to use either so I can't help out much with that. Anyways go ahead and pull the trigger I don't think you'll be disappointed
