question on slaughterhouse brine

Do you simply mix the ingredients and brine, or do you cook/boil to dissolve everything?
 
I just give everything a good stir. Just did a 5 gallon bucket of slaughterhouse last night!

If I'm just making a gallon or so, I'll throw all of the dry ingredients into half of the water and run it in the ol stand mixer for a bit. Let it do the work. Then add the mixed water in with the other half of regular water.

Good to go.
