Going to be starting a build on my new off set smoker in the next few weeks and I was wondering if there is any disadvantages to building a squre box style cooking chamber vs the traditional round style?

Hi Matt, I don't think there's any disadvantages.
Heat rises, so i would recommend dropping your exhaust stack maybe 6" - 12" from the top of the cook chamber.
