I have heard that Pecan wood is a wonderful wood to use while smoking...

Me being from the northeast do not have that easy of access to getting any of it. Does anyone know of a online store that sells pecan wood chips or chunks?

Or if anyone is willing to help me out with a little bit? I am more then willing to pay you for the wood and the shipping to me.

Thanks in advance.

You could always post in the "exchange program" section and request a bag or box or whatever of pecan wood.
Actually I can't get pecan around here either so that would be a great wood to try out.

About the only local wwod we have is alder which works well but everything else I have to purchase from our local hardware store in tiny little bags.

Not knowing any better, I had not even thought about ordering larger quantities online. Thanks for the idea.

If you're not in a hurry....and haven't found any yet...I can get you some Pecan chips. Chips..not chunks. Western brand. I like 'em. Works good for my Jerky recipe.

I can pick some up Saturday morning and ship it to you....be in the mail and on it's way Saturday afternoon.

I truly appreciate this offer. But I don't want to put you out. I was making this a last resort. One of the guys gave me a site tehy will ship to a store near me... I am going to do it this way. Thank you though! You are great!

Hi to all....about the pecan wood. I don't want to sound smug, but I live a mile and half from the second largest Pecan orchard in the country. Next to their outlet store are about an acre of pecan fire wood for sale...I know, sounds stupid, but they haven't figured out how they could package it and sell. I will go down and find out how much their selling the wood and let you all know. The wood is from pruning they do every December, just before new growth starts in Feb. Maybe some of you could help me find good Oak, which is real hard to find in my area (Tucson,AZ). I keep you posted

Oak is something we have a lot of up here. Thanks to other posters I have some pecan wood being sent to me today and ready for pick up in a few hours... It was rather inexpensive too!

I don't need a whole lot of pecan just enough for myself, my father, and my uncle to hold us for 6 months to a year (and thats not much)... They share with me, So i like to return the favor...

Thank you all so much!
