Will be planting 20 or so trees here shortly. Would love to put a drip system in....but we are only a quarter mile or so from a lake/river so we have more than our fair share of rocks so that ain't happening. Plan is to just water them from a garden hose. Want to rig up a bunch of emitters so everything gets a slow, deep reaching watering without the chance of flooding. When I was in AZ I built a drip system but don't remember seeing PC emitters where I got everything from. So what's the deal with them? We are on a well that will pump out sediment on a regular basis....even though it has a screen. Will be putting a screen on the hydrant end of the hose with the hopes that this will reduce the likelihood of plugging the emitters up. If it matters I have the pressure switch on the well tank set 45 psi...if I remember correctly.

I have all the landscaping around my house irrigated with drippers and a system that believe it or not came from lowes.  Close friend of mine is a landscaper that does irrigation and for home use this is what he recommended. I buried a 1/2" feed line around the house and have 1/4" going to all the plants with adjustable drippers.  I run mine off my spigot with a timer.  You could just run the 1/2" line long enough to go past all your trees and have a dripper at each one.  Roll it back up when you are done.  You would have to have a way to tie it or stake it by each tree to keep it where you want. 100 ft of the 1/2" hose is about 12 bucks and the drippers are really cheap, so depending on how far your trees are apart you wouldn't have much into it.  They make a filter they sell there to take care of sediment as well, and if you get the adjustable ones like I did you can unscrew it all the way and flush them out.

Here is the hose.

They are easy to clean.... just pull them out and dunk and swirl in a bucket of water.... the rings/discs are grooved and that's what filters the particles... they last forever... no parts to wear out...

Funny thread header. I was heading over to the ban button for spam...LOL

I got 14 more holes to dig. 4 are where it is really rocky. Hope the Boss picks spots more towards the rear of the property for the rest...
