Any folks ever try this? Dunno if there's a special name for it... Anyway...I save all the small bits of leftovers from briskets, butts, smoked skirt meat, etc. over a couple months and vac seal and freeze 'em. Then I'll make a pot of what's known in my house as "BBQ". I chunk/pull all the meat, and mix in chopped celery, onion, and even sometimes a small chunked tomato along with some of my BBQ sauce and a like amount of water. Then I'll simmer it all slow till it gets back close to the consistancy the sauce was to start. Serve on good hearty style buns.

Is this something traditional? Has it a name?

Just curious. Us Yankees don't know much, ya see :{)

Sort of sounds a little like hash, but I wouldn't put hash on a bun.....or maybe I would.

Yeah ... What Hawg said ... sounds like a great middle of the week dinner or lunch .

My dots call it reruns on buns, we dont put celery in it, may have to try that.

Re-runs on buns does sound good ........ I was gonna suggest "Sloppy Richtee's". But re-runs has a better sound too it!

What are leftovers?

Just kiddin, sounds tasty!

I like "Sloppy Richtee's". As I read the post, the first thing that came to my mind was Untidy Joseph's AKA Sloppy Joes's. I'll have to add some frozen BBQ meat the next time I make some. Great idea!!!

Take care, have fun, and do good!

Hmm ya know, Meowey... seeing that just jostled a neuron somewhere. My Ma used to add BBQ sauce <Open Pit, no doubt>to SJ's and call 'em Smoky Joes. Now, my Ma is an EXCELLENT cook, but I'm glad I buried THAT recipe deep in my subconscience... :{)

Definately sounds like a much improved version of a sloppy joe to me.
I would call it " YUMMY" Thanks for the idea.

First thing that came to my mind was a sloppy joe. Whatver you call them I am sure they taste great.
