Has anyone used with succes smoking pellets in with the charcoal if the Kimados?
I have a smoke generator which I use but it's one more thing to get going sometimes. If I can just chuck pellets straight in when I am time poor that could work.

I'm not a kamado user but I tried this many years ago in my WSM when I ran out of chunks and they simply went up in flames.

The only way that I can see them possibly working would be to put them in the ash drawer and let them light from the hot ashes falling.

^^^^This, maybe
You can just try it and see what it does for you and let us know. I am pretty sure you will find that yes you will get some smoke but it will be very short lived. You will have major temp swings too with all the open/closing and pellets firing up then done burning.
Why not just add wood chunks?
