Had my pit boss for about a year and a half now. Auger motor started working intermittently and then quit altogether. Got a new auger motor and put it in and the new one didnt work either. Put a bolt meter on it and it was only putting 50 volts to it. Checked out the wiring diagram and checked the fan motor and it had 120 volts so I swapped the plugs and auger motor starts working. Brought back the old auger motor and plugged it was never bad. So does that mean the controller is bad? I cant find any connections from the red wire on the back of the controller to the plug for the motor. Looks to be soldered on and the connection feels good to me. If it is the controller that has to be replaced what is a good replacement? Thanks.

I take it you are out of the warranty period, I'm not familiar with their warranty policy? If you have to pay for a new one, I would recommend upgrading to a Savannah Stoker PID controller. https://www.savannahstoker.com/ They have one of the best controllers on the market and will work with you to get your grill up and running properly.

Yes when I bought it I didnt hold on to the receipt for proof of purchase or register it. When I bought it the warranty was much shorter. I think pit boss has now extended it to a multiyear warranty.

Hmmm, I thought I heard Savannah Stoker was no long selling controllers. Other options are controllers from:

Ortech
RecTec
Pellet Pro

Apologies. It was Rocks Stoker that stop selling their product. Savannah Stoker is still in business. Sorry for that.
