Was getting ready to smoke some ribs and a couple of tenderloins yesterday, tried to preheat the master-built..........nothing. It wouldn't come on. Unit less than a week old. Called master-built and told them it would work remote only, and told them that the door leaked smoke and water even after adjustment. They told me that the leaking was normal. (I don't think so!) Well common sense would dictate that rising moist hot smoky air cannot be good for electronics. But I could not convince the rep that the bad seal was not a good thing. A long story short, I took it back for a replacement. So far so good. No leaky door and gasket. Don't get discouraged as these things happen some times. Believe me I know. I work on appliances and HVAC equipment. Hope you all have a great and prosperous new year.

No the doors are not supposed to leak. I have found that overall Masterbuilt Customer Service is good. I have had mixed results as well. I called to complain that the Meat Probe was off by 20*F. First person I talked to said that is normal and nothing could be done. I called the next day, a different person apologized and said a replacement probe would be sent that day...JJ
