offset smoker build base help

Hi, I'm attempting to build an offset smoker out of a 60 gallon air compressor tank. Right now, I'm building a base and was wondering if anyone have any tips on lay of base/stand. I am worried about door height and stability. would making the base come out 2" past the smoker be stable enough? please post pics of your smoker if you've built one to help give me ideas! Thank you

More than likely, yes, if it's not super high. Most folks will tell you to keep the grate level around 32-36" or so - I don't mind it being a couple inches above that, but pretty close.

Bringing your legs down straight from the smoker tank is usually fine if you're keeping it fairly low like this. Going out 2" is probably more than good enough. I guess it depends on what you're doing for wheels - is this going on casters? Are you doing spindles and hubs with golf cart wheels or what?
