hey everyone i am new to the site today and trying to upload my photos from yesterdays progress on my smoker build for some help and i can not figure out how to upload photos to my post. can anyone please help me.

Welcome aboard, new my self and took me a bit to get how to use the picture thing. When you compose a reply where it says Upload file, just click that and find the picture on your computer/phone. People who do the long fancy multi embedded images with a caption? Still don't know how to do that one !

Like Tom said. When you find the picture on your computer that you want, just double click on it and wait. A thumbnail will load below your post. Then click the spot in your post where you want the picture. Go back to the thumbnail and choose whether you want to insert a thumbnail or a full picture and click on your choice. The pic will then load at the spot you selected in your post. Repeat for each picture you want to insert.

It's a little tricky on my phone I have a Samsung galaxy android but not set on easy mode and I have tonnes of files...but here's how I do it anyway...

I created an album dedicated to BBQ food just to make it easier to find as it's alphabetical.. 'B' is high on the list once I access 'DCIM' ...screenshots however not so high up and you can only upload 1 photo at a time so I do a fair bit of scrolling...but I love that the photos don't upload straight to the post so you can consturct your little story popping on a photo when you want :D

Really hope this helps...even if you dont have android or same settings as me hopefully it will be of some help to someone :)

Happy smoking!

I have just thought because you are really new... like 1 day old you may have to wait a while to post pics especially a whole load of pics...i'm not sure how long the probationary period is or if there even is one but that could be why you aren't getting the option to post.

Probation period delay is ten posts I believe. I do mine very similar to Gary. Once I plug my camera into my computer I'll open up the folder where the pic's are located(DCIW folder I think). Then I'll open the thread that I want to include the pictures in. Holding the CTRL key down click and highlight all the pictures you want to bring over to the thread. Once their all highlighted drag them over into the thread. You should see some type of message stating copy picture and the number of pic's if I remember correctly. They will all appear below the thread with the options of full size, thumbnail or delete. I would recommend waiting until all pictures are downloaded before posting them. You'll see two status bars moving while the download is working. One at the top of the page one near the bottom.

To put the captions/descriptions in just start typing whatever it is you want to say and leave the cursor where you want the picture to appear. Go to the picture that you want in that spot and click full size or thumbnail(your choice) and it should appear where the cursor was. To add another picture place your cursor at the bottom right hand corner of the picture and hit return. Your cursor should now be on the next line below the picture. Repeat as many times as needed.
