Hi all. Just wanted to introduce myself. Today I smoked for the first time on my little weber grille. Haven't taken the plunge yet to buy a true smoker but will here soon. Looking for a 22" vertical smoker for space savings vs a horizontal.

As for my first victim, I decided to do a whole chicken with a misquite rub and misquite wood chips (ill use chunks next time as the chips didn't smoke long enough). I have read that chicken dries out pretty easily so I added a water pan under the chicken. Unfortunately, it starred to rain and I couldn't keep the temperature up so I had to finish the bird in the oven.

Total time took about 3 hours (2.5 on smoker, .5 in oven until internal temp reached 180*). Turned out pretty well and very moist.
