Hey All,

Long time BBQ lurker.  Several years ago I built an offset reverse flow, now I'm trying my hand at UDS and I've shanghaied a few buddies into this one and ended up the ringleader of a batch of 4 barrels for ugly drum build.

Now that I'm mass producing, it's been a bit more difficult to plan things.  I'm getting them sand blasted (red liner) soon, and I'm looking for help in how I should stage this so that I avoid any rust/paint issues in the future. Here's what I'm thinking:

1. Sand blast barrels

2. Take home, season inside with PAM/lard and use weed burner/torch to flash-season (I can't burn with wood, live in city)

3. Let cool, paint with hi-temp primer

Curious to know if I need to go through all that, or if I can leave inside unseasoned.  I suppose the *right* way to do this is to build the fireboxes first, paint the outside, then burn some lump in them all.  I haven't built the fireboxes yet.  Let me know what y'all think!  I appreciate the help!  Couldn't find anything on seasoning with a torch in searching, but thinking this might make it easy.
