Hi Everyone.  I joined this forum back in July but never introduced myself, so I am doing it now.

I am new to "smoking" and got the urge to try it after listening to someone I know talk about how they smoke their ribs.  Soon after, I went to Dallas to visit my son who has a Traeger and he made me some baby backs on it.  I love them.

I bought a Masterbuilt 30 which I got for a great price on Amazon.  I thought this would be a great piece of equipment to try out this new endeavor.  Anyway, in the past month I have made baby back ribs 3 times, and a brisket.  I did some reading on the forum before I did any smoking, and got some really good pointers.  My third time smoking ribs finally got the wife to say OHHH, now these are really good.....don't change what you did.

Looking forward to further explorations.....like.....pulled pork.  YES!!!

BTW, I am retired, been living in Arizona since 2003 after moving from Florida to escape the humidity and bugs.  I also love motorcycling, and Arizona is a great place to do that.

I can't relate to any of your surroundings or employment status but I do enjoy smoking and love to talk about it.. good enough for me . Wish you the best of luck in your retirement and smoking endeavors for sure..
This place is great for a daily stop in. Take care and have fun!
