I was talking to the wife last night about a smoker and a manual stuffer. I have mentioned getting a smoker in the past so that wasn't a surprise. I threw in the stuffer last night and we both agreed that I can order the stuffer http://www.meatprocessingproducts.com/52001.html

and I can make the smoker. I have enough wood in the shop for the build, I should only have to buy some insulation and a little hardware. I started making sausage by myself a couple years back with a little cabelas grinder and now there is about 5 of us that do it a few times a year. I went from 5lbs at a time to now over 200lbs in a couple years. The grinder has also been replaced with a Lem 22. Anyway, anyone have this stuffer?

wow ... $1,000 for a stuffer is pretty rich unless you are making one heck of allot of sausage!!!

You can get a perfectly good 5# unit for $90 from Grizzly

Anywhere from 400 - 800 lbs a year between 5 people. I have to get it done in a weekend because of the length of drive some have to make. Plus it is small commercial so it will last me a lifetime.

That looks like a awesome stuffer - Yep doing that much stuffing I would be getting that one or one like it also, - Shannon127 wont steer you wrong either - he knows.

I have used a 25 pound stuffer like that but only a different brand. This was while i was working as a butcher for 35 years. They are very durable and will last you a lifetime. Something you can pass on to another generation if taken care of. If you need to stop the flow of sausage comming out of the tube for some reason just crank the handle backwards one turn. I have a 5 pound capacity and although i make sausage all year long, it works for me as i make sausage by myself with no bigger batches than 25 pounds. However the way you describe the amount you make and with peoples travel time this is a good way to go. It's well worth the money for folks that love making sausage for years to come. Reinhard
