For the last 5 years or so, I’ve been having a fair bit of success with the hand-me-down electric Charbroil smoker that I modified with a mail box. Unfortunately, the bottom of the box is rusted out, and I think it’s time to just replace the whole thing. The question is - what do I replace it with? I’ve enjoyed the convenience of just plugging it in and lighting the pellets in my AMNTS, but I’m open to trying something different. Anyway, I figured I’d see what y’all think - I’m open to suggestions and hearing some of the pros and cons of different options.

I have a MES 30 that is OK, it can't really handle a ton of stuff and I have to cut down a rack of ribs too fit.

I love the flavor I get with chunks on the kettle but you have to tend to it on long cooks.
I am investigating a gravity fed like the MB1050 to get a similar smoke profile but I would not dismiss a Weber Smokefire or other better pellet grill if I stumble on a deal.

While I have a few smokers, the one that I seem to go to the most (unless doing a big cook) is my Pit Barrel Cooker, while it is not technically a smoker (it runs at 270-300) by adding a controller and fan, it becomes a versatile smoker / cooker. Plus it is ceramic coated and for the price it is tough to beat.

Just my opinion....

Smoke ON!
