New smoker guy from louisiana

Hi everyone I am buying a masterbuilt 40 smoker this evening off of craigslist I have already ordered a amazn pellet smoker and a some pittmasters choice pellets.. Is the thermometer pretty accurate in the masterbuilt will be doing my first smoke ever hopefully Sunday I am up to any tips if y'all have any thanks
