Just bought a GOSM model # 3450Gt on the way home from work tonight. I got it assembled, and I am going to season it first thing tomorrow,, and fire it up in the afternoon. Doing some spares, beans, tips, and ABT's.

I was looking @ the brinkman propane gassser, but the boss gave me a bonus, and told me to buy myself a new smoker. Hit Bass Pro-Shops on the way home, and payed $142.

Really looking forward to the propane smoker vs the charcoal fired ones I have used up til now. Anyone got any tips for the GOSM?

thanks jim

Way to go. Hope you enjoy the GOSM.

Congrats have fun with it

thanks folks, I plan to.
the main main reason I switched to gas was the upcoming football season, and NFL season ticket, I like football, and I like bbq, and I dont want to be sitting on the deck hovering over my offset fighting temp. Especially when it get cold.

ill post the q-view tomorrow of the feast under the approporiate topics, and a review of the GOSM here.

hey congrats on the bonus! I got mine a few weeks ago. This thing is the greatest. I only have one smoke in it so far but I could not be happier.

thanks, having a job right now is great, being appreciated is even better.

tell me about it. theres nothing worse then showing up everyday feeling like you are unappreciated.

a bonus tells you how much they truly do appreciate you.

plus the note with the check told me to go out and buy a new smoker.. my wife(CFO) couldnt argue with that...

Looking forward to the Qview of its solo flight.

Congrats on the bonus and specially the new smoker. I've had one for about a year and love it. It works for everything I wanted to smoke from ribs to briskets with no problem at all

Congrats, I'll have to have a chat with my boss......

I like the smoke daddy smoke generator as an add on. If your handy you can make something similar, (I used a drive shaft from a venture van). But for the price/time he has the big Kahuna on ebay at a resonable price.

Bigger is better!

finishing seasoning the smoker right now, gonna let it cool and then get dinner started.

smoking with apple wood, I am doing some spares, some rib tips, beans, and ABT's with orange flying fish roe, shrimp, cream cheese, and bacon. I took pics of the prepe, and I will post those pics in the appropriate areas, or on an all encompasing thread later.

me and the smoker just getting started around noon. pics of the ABTs are posted, pics of the spares posted soon.

this GOSM is a nice piece of equipt. clean tasting BBQ, easy to hold a temp, even with winds around 14 mph. I hovered around 230 99% of the smoke. Built in therm is useless as I expeceted, it was reading 50 degrees hotter tha actual temp.

After one use I already like this smoker better than my offset, and the WSM I was using.
