Whats up everyone Mel here, I am from South Eastern Michigan(detroit metro area). I have been smoking meat for some years now and a lurker on the site for about 2 years... I recently purchased a modded Oklahoma Joes longhorn that was a Christmas gift from the wife to me... its the one with a one part fire box and a single thermometer port the one with the slide out ash pan.
I apreciate the ideas and discussions soninhad to join...

Nice to have ya . Hope you get out here in the early spring and start sending pics of good food.. :p I might be able to help you find stuff for smoking or fixing up the smoker mods.. I never used an offset smoker though..

I will definitely be smoking meat possibly in a few days... I know I will use alot of wood and coal but who cares. Pics will be coming soon. We are pretty close I am in Canton

Ok.. yeah I go through there all week for work. I work in Livonia & we have a bunch of customers on Ford rd and Michigan ave .. Canton Center and Sheldon....in that area .
