Hello, I am new to this forum, I am from a small city in Southern California called San Pedro, it's right next to Long Beach. I recently got a new Char Griller Pro fro Christmas from my girlfriend, I was going to wait until the summer to buy it myself, but she decided she would get it for me as a X-mas gift. I purchased the SFB attachment because I really want to get into smoking, I've always been interested and finally decided to do it. I only used it twice since i got it, once to grill some patties and once to smoke my first pork butt, which didn't go as planned (Didn't really think it would on my first try anyways) but still ended out being really good, everyone enjoyed it. While looking up info on how to smoke pork butt, i ran into this website a few times, after reading posts from this website and others, I decided to join, seems like there are a lot of good people here. I plan on modding my char griller with an extended smoke stack and a charcoal box or basket, and adding two thermometers at grate level and replacing the factory thermometer on the middle of the top lid which is not good at all. So far the only thing I did was seal up the vent stack with high temp sealant.
I am a total newbie when it comes to smoking and hope to learn a lot from everyone on this site and later once I get some more experience with smoking, teach someone here something.
