hello to everyone,
I have gone through many post and many articles. but for some reason my inexperience is humbling me time and again. many of past post about building smoker tends to about RF smoker. I am trying to build simple offset smoker for now. I am using 8mm iron metal sheet and get it rolled at metal factory. I used feldon calc. my dimension are cc 54"x 24", fb 18"x22", stack 4"x33.29, air intake 4" diameter two round holes, and my fb to cc opening is 66.90 sq in.
my dilemma is with fb to cc opening. i tried to follow though daveomak's recommendations, posts, links, and explanation. but unfortunately not been able to ring a bell in my head. furthermore, there was a correction regarding round cc and fb with different diameters.
how do i know the upper half and the lower half of the opening to fb to cc is cut right and meets the area requirement of 66.90 sq in. i went through the circle cal and did understand the green area of segment area. but still unable to be sure how i would get the footbal shape of different diameter that will exactly corresponds to 66.90 sq in as given by feldon calc .
any help will be much appreciated.

sure thank you chopsaw. and I got round and half moon calculation as shown on the feldon calc, just use the number with circle area formula and it adds up. by the way is there any reason on which kind of fb to cc opening is good (round or half moon or football shaped)
