I smoked and two butts yesterday and after foiling them I fell asleep. My wife took them out of the oven and placed them in a cooler after maybe 3 hours in the foil at the most. The problem is that judging by what time she said she took them out I have doubts as to whether or not they are going to be pullable. So is there anything I can do to make them tender enough for pulling? I thought about maybe putting them in a roaster oven with a bit of moisture, but am not sure. Anyone here have some advice for me on this one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Put them in a 220' oven with moisture for a couple of hours or until a fork just goes in nice and easy. A roaster will work also.

Ron is spot on, anytime you run out of time, get discouraged, tired, cold or otherwise put-off, the oven is your friend..... a lot of us have that situation at times. The tender thingy is a big one folks can't understand, the time and collagen factor, and give up thinking it will not get there.Preservere,Grasshopper, it will melt-eventually...LOL
Points Ron for saving the day.

Ron is the Funk an Wagnle of smoking here. So just do what he says and you'll be fine. So throw that thing back into the oven and you'll be fine.
