So my MES electronic controller took a crap this weekend and the replacement part is no longer made. The model number of my smoker is 20070215. None of the parts places online have the controller and Masterbuilt says no other controller crosses over, so I guess I now own a......box?

I looked at the new MES models but looking at the reviews online it seems quality control on these has gone considerably down hill. So I'm a little skeptical about buying one of the newer models.

Anyone here have experience with the latest MES models or know of a hack/3rd person company that makes electronic controllers for my current one?

You don't need a new smoker. You simply need a new controller!

You'll actually find that your existing smoker works far better.

There's PID options that you can build or you can get one of several premade options. The Auber controller seems to be the easiest and most popular replacement solution for your smoker.

When my 20070215 goes out, that's what I'll be doing :-)

Thanks for the info!! I found a bunch of info TallBM and others have put on here about hooking up the Auber PID to the MES.

Looks pretty straight forward and will save me a decent amount of $$$$

You'll love your electric smoker again. So much better temp control.
