Bought my mother the All American 21-1/2-Quart Pressure Cooker Canner for just under $231 on
amazon a couple of years ago. It is rock solid and awesome! I read up on pressure cookers like this for canning and All American won hands down.
We've canned a few items and it has worked like champ.
She also uses it for cooking tamale meat and steaming her tamales because she can do a massive amount at a time, like 9 dozen.
Additionally, both she and I own the electric Instant Pot DUO60 7-in-1 Multi-Use Programmable Pressure Cooker, 6 Qt pressure cooker.
I think it is a great little appliance to have that can act as a crock pot, rice cooker, and a few other things in addition to a pressure cooker but NOT a canner.
I make a number of dishes with it like beans, my pork shank ramen noodle soup, venison shank pot roast, etc. etc.
I like being able to put frozen or semi frozen cuts of meat like the shanks it it and go to town.
My mother uses hers about 2-3 times a week to make a Mexican soup called Menudo that traditionally takes all night to boil beef tripe. In the pressure cooker she has a fully cooked soup with the tripe in about 1.5 hours!!!
She cooks whole chickens, soups, etc. Basically anything she can think of she will attempt in the thing and again she uses it 2-3 times a week hahaha.
So in all. The All American is used for pressure canning, water bath canning without the lid on, and cooking mass amounts of specific food dishes.
The 6qt Elecric Instantpot is used anytime an everyday item needs a pressure cooking or a slow cooking.
Both are top notch and you can often find the Instantpot marked down like 40% on
Amazon the weekend of Black Friday through Cyber Monday :)
Best of luck!
