My problem with SMF

is that I don't have nearly enough time to try all the great stuff people post on here as far as recipes, ideas, q-view, changes in methods, mods, information, and getting questions answered in a timely manner, etc.

This is a great place and lots of great folks,

I'm in the same boat , my little brain is way over saturated in just a couple of months

My cooking favs file is now over flowing with mods , wood types , charcoal , and a whole bunch of threads from ABT s to bacon and briskets to trout and turkey and most everything in between .

Little by little a fraction is sinking in , but it's so small compared to what is here that it doesn't even scratch the surface

Addiction? Maybe. I suppose my doctor will tell me at the end of July....

I like to think of it as "passion." In an election year and as a minister, I'm too often disappointed that folks who disagree will do so with such venom that they can't associate with each other.

If you think about the regional variations of Q (Carolina, Memphis, KC, St. Louis, Texas, etc.)--dare I say denominations?--it's amazing that this forum is so diverse and yet so united in advancing what we know, from newbies to OTBS members, because of the passion for the smoke.

It's something that I pray for at the church, too... but I digress.

The Bible says "iron sharpens iron," and I think that goes for SMF as well. Like I've said before, we're all in this together. Let the good smoke roll!

BTW, I don't know who first evangelized me on fatties (probably flyin'illini), but I am eternally grateful!
 
Heck, I've been gone a lot this last month...I'll never catch up with ya'll on trying out these good recipes and ideas.
I better get to smokin!

Early in the week when you figure out hey that looks great I'm gonna do that next weekend a bunch more pop up in the next few days and it gets so confussing so much good stuff so little time

I have the same problem, especialy now that its getting to be summer now. To many other project going on too......................
 
I know what everyone talking about.I'm retired and I still can't keep up with all the posts.I'm not complaining because I'd rather have it this way then being in a forum where nobody says anything.I have a hard time just keeping up with all new members,and by the way...welcome to all the new members to SMF, that I didn't say welcome too.

This is the only smokin room I lite up in..I have 4 grills at the shack. 1 real smoker and 2 that can smoke and grill, and 1 dedicated grill.
I love cooking. and normally eat only at home from the grills. this place has given me more ideas. and made me forget alot of good ones I have trying to catch up on what i have been missing with this SM. since TH posted his Q on BEP's I have ate more of them suckers and can't believe they have not been on my menu in so long.
then the habenero pinapple finishing sauce..with the dried pineapple hab rub. I have so many things drying to make rubs with..then there is the sprizters. apple juice and bourbon..my wife was wondering how much spritzin meat needed till she caught me spritzen my tonsils by the grill..
 
Do you have the finishing sauce and hab rub recipes?
I searched for em and went to the sauces/rub section but didn't see em.
