That is great, I'm a newbie also, and I just bought a vertical GOSM, so we'll be learning together, my first smoke were ribs also, I used Jeffs rub, and the 2,2,1 for bbs, and they were great, I'm sure your mom will have no problems, if she does, she can call you. Doesn't she have a library she can go to to use the internet? That would be a good place for her to go, to get more info.
