Hey y'all, I have a new to me Masterbuilt electric smoker, model number MB25073519; it's the John McLemore Signature Edition. I used it a couple times with no issues but a few weeks ago I was smoking a pork butt and after about 7-8 hours in the smoker, the thing started to turn off by itself. I'd turn it back on and go back to check it a little later and sure enough it would be off again. An error message (I think) did pop up that looked like it said "GIPX", though I can't find that error code anywhere online.

Most recently it turned off and refused to turn on again so I thought it was dead. Just plugged it in to test it and it turned on fine. On the most recent attempt at use, I got barely any smoke and it only stayed on for an hour or two before failing completely.

I just ran it and it was set to 250, which it hit in about 15 minutes. I went inside for a moment and came back out and it had shut off completely and I was unable to turn it on again, like the time before. The heating element never really got red, despite getting up to temp (don't know if that's normal). The only spot where it did kind of get red was underneath the wood chip tray.

I'm assuming based on my forum research that I have to replace the heating element. I could not find anything specific to my model so wanted to post and be sure. I took off the two back panels and the pictures of what I found are below. Unfortunately, this type of repair is like a second langauage to me. Thanks in advance for the help!
