Plumbed in a chimney exhaust today for my MES to live in the he permanently. Still have to tape the joints and permanently hang the venting. When smoking now I just open the door and hang the vent off the eves trough. I can turn the elbow away from the wind so it doesn't backdraft. Have a bunch of cheese in there now to test it out. Thanks for looking.

Good deal, look for one of these and you can leave the door closed when it gets cold and snowy. Just mount it up high on your door.

Looks Great---Wind is the biggest problem with MES, but you solved that.

I would keep an eye on it though. They can screw up & catch on fire. It's rare, but it happens.

A simple range vent hood and a hole through the wall, would be a great addition, oh and a fire extinguisher just in case. You can pick up a hood for under 100 bucks and it probably wouldn't be that hard to run the exhaust out through the wall.

I would have preferred to go through-wall with a hood to capture door emissions too, but the boss told me she didn't want any holes in the wall.

Bear and shtrdave, fire extinguisher is sound advice, will do.
That's good, because I know a guy who had his MES door flame up & had a big fire on it.

I don't believe anything else burned, but he had it outside. I forget what caused it, but I think there might have been grease that actually accumulated in the inside of the door. I also believe Masterbuilt sent him a new door.
