After picking up that MES30(bluetooth) for $69.99 I'm curious as to what generation it is.

Model# 20072115
Black body with stainless glass door, hinged left.Vent on left.Rear wheels with handle on back of unit.Bottom pan drains in middle to a pull out drip pan.Has meat probe on right side.Chip loader handle is rounded.

No idea but WAG is gen3 but where did you score that deal?!

Just happened to walk into the local Walmart for a hose nozzle and saw it on the shelf.Had to do a double take as I couldn't believe what I was seeing and they threw in the 2yr replacement plan for nothing.

I beleive all Bluetooth units are Gen 2.5 or better. The model number indicates It was manufactured in 2015, therefore It is a Gen 2.5 That would have been the lastest and greatest at that time, possibly even currently.

Sounds like the deal of this century!
Nice score!
Bear Carver has a lot of info on how to figure these out.
It sounds like a really late model though.
Is the water pan shaped like a swimming pool?

Without seeing it, it sounds like a Gen #2.5 to me.
Here's more on them:

It really was one hell of a deal!

The water pan is the swimming pool type.Outside of the bottom pan being different the interior is the same as the 2.5 "hybrid" I got from Cabelas on black friday, the grates are slightly different but totally interchangeable. On the MB website its listed as the MES 230/bluetooth though the controller shown there has the bluetooth symbol on the right side of the controller where on mine its on the left.

I will say this much about it:the digital controller is much more accurate and reliable, granted the initial smoke was about 3hrs but when set at 225 the smoker never got higher than 232 or below 219.That was verified with my both my Thermoworks and Thermopro thermometers.

Bear, spent some time looking/reading your links and certainly appears this is Gen #2.5.

Thanks for re-posting those links,I'd actually forgot about them. When the rain stops I'll still post pics for confirmation though.
