I absolutely hate high shipping charges!
I thought hard about upgrading my initial purchase to a MES with the probe. But I read to many horror stories about them.
So I took the separate route. I have several different thermometers now. But two I use and trust.
A TP-08 ThrmoPro, and a new Inkbird IBT-4X.
For range the TP-08 has it. For gizmosis factor the IBT-4X is nice, but has to be close to the BBQ/Smoker in my home.
So I'm (again) taking a different route. I have on order a fourth probe for my Inkbird to make it a 4 probe meat monitor.
My TP-08 is going to be my Grate and internal Temperature monitoring device. (think High and Low)
At the time I bought the TP-08, I didn't think I would need a bunch of meat probes. But adding the IBT-4X has opened up more monitoring options.
I live in a stucco house. And I believe the chicken wire used to hold the mortar to the walls acts like a Faraday cage and screws with WiFi and Bluetooth signals. So everybody's results can vary.
But this was my answer to built in probes.
Bmudd was instrumental in helping me order a "replacement" meat probe for my IBT-4X. A Great Help, Thank You again Brian!
4 racks in my MES, 4 probes in the IBT-4X. Provodential...
The TP-08 can act as my bedside alarm for overnight smokes. Should I ever need to go back to those.
I personally do not like
Amazon. They cannot keep their website secure, and when I ordered my IBT-4X probe, they tacked on a $5.95 shipping charge after I ordered. (one click)
I was so pissed I canceled the order, went to Ebay, and ordered the same probe with shipping, for a penny less than
Amazon's selling price. :emoji_middle_finger:
Amazon!
I've use Ebay for a lot of ordering this year. And there is no prime fees to get free shipping.
