So my analog power controller (9007160016 -HX-001) it fried out during smoking other day. Heating element is tested and still functioning. Now I can't find any replacement analog power controller from masterbuilt, ebay, etc are all out of stock. I took it apart and one of the contacts is in pretty poor shape, probably had it not plugged in well one time, housing has melted some probably not best candidate for repair but I'm not sure where to source the female contacts for the round metal rods leading to heat element. I do smoke in the rain and snow a lot as I'm a contractor and those are my days off so maybe I need to protect it better in those weather conditions. I'm amateur smoker and not looking to upgrade smoker at this time as I am comfortable with this unit.

My question for the forum is what do?

Options I've thought of....
I seen some aftermarket River Country controllers with new elements? Not sure how much modification necessary to get a good fit.

Is there any aftermarket replacement controller for the Masterbuilt 9007160016-HX-001?

Does someone have one to sell ?

Thanks so much everyone for the great forum.

That's it. Thanks so much! Too bad normally $29.99 at masterbuilt and almost double there. One consideration is should I think about upgrading to the river country unit with new heating element for the same price? Anyone have any experience with that?

thanks
mike

My daughter bought that same unit at Aldis a few years ago for $69. I would upgrade to something better. The analog unit didnt have good airflow and you had to open the door to add chips. I have no knowledge of the river country unit. Always keep parts in mind as you just found out.

If you get the controller listed above, I have and use 2, it will control the output of the heating element... It will not shut off automatically.... I like that feature... It takes a small learning curve as to how much to turn the knob to get the temp you want... The good point is.... it doesn't shut off... no temp swings in your smoker....
It's like a gas burner on a stove.... turn it up or down as you like....
