I know some of ya have one of these.

After lastnights bad weather the 70mph wind tossed my kettle and spirit across the yard. My SIL picked em up and put back on deck. I have yet to uncover to look at the damage. My weber spirit is leaning to the side. Kettle i dont know.

I was at Orscheln today and they had the 560 for $499.
Im not a huge masterbuilt fan.

Good/ bad on the 560

Rick, can’t help on the MB… wish I could! I’ve pondered getting one for a while!

I am sorry your things were damaged, that sucks my friend!

Hey Rick sorry to hear about the damage.
I have the 1050 and love it. It does eat fuel but a minor inconvenience compared to the results.
Add your choice of chunks to the firebox and ash pan to provide the desired level of smoke intensity . The ability to smoke at 250 and then crank it up to 650° for high heat seat takes me 5 minutes !
Yes the switches can be prone to failure due to their inherent design, but this can be eliminated with the use on electronic contact cleaner between cooks.
Maintains a steady temp and I have given the old girl plenty of use.
C/S has been great when I requested replacement switches but still haven't changed then since adding the cleaner to my routine.

I love my MB had it for over three years. Things a champ for the price. I can live with the little issues /shrug. I' am not getting into the topic further as it irritates the snot outta me. GL hope whatever happens you enjoy some good food.

Thanks everyone.

Checked this morning. My spirit gas, the front panel where the knobs are is broken and bent upwards. Should be an easy fix.

Kettle looks like it faired pretty good, dont see any dents.

I love my 560, had it for almost 3 years and not one problem with it. I know people talk about the build quality and the switches failing, but I haven’t had any issues. I also store my smokers in the basement when not in use, so I’m sure that helps.

One thing I will say is that I’ve seen them a lot cheaper than $499, so I would hesitate paying that price because I know they’re cheaper….but then again with things priced the way they are in today’s economy, it comes down to a need vs want issue for me.

Kettle is ok, still able to use. The spirit is damaged, the whole front area, knobs and gas pipe.

I nixed the MB 560
