 Me too! That shelf will definately be on my "to get" list. New Mes 40 is out for delivery today. Anxiously awaiting UPS arival as I type!

Just called Masterbuilt and they said the side shelf should be available closer to the end of the year at Bass Pro, Gander Mountain, and possibly Cabelas retail locations. She didn't have any information on pricing as of yet, but I can't imagine that it would be too expensive. Glad I have a Bass Pro close by, as this will definitely be going on my Christmas list this year.
