I recently bought a food dehydrator and decided to start making my dogs chicken jerky. All the websites I’ve been to have said to slice them about an 1/8-1/4 of an inch and dehydrate them at 165° for 4-6 hours. I have had them on the dehydrator for about 5 hours now and some pieces are still a bit bouncy(?) and have small spots that look like cooked white meat inside. Does that mean it is ready or does it need a couple more hours? I didn’t use any salts or marinades since it’s for the doggos. I don’t want to give them chicken that can make them sick. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I have no words of wisdom but am sure interested in the answer. I have 3 dogs that wouldn't say no to a treat. I used chicken livers, pulsed in food processor then baked on cookie sheet, broken up into pieces. Sure like those.

Not for sure either. Could you post a pic? We've never made it either but my wife does make some homemade dog treats. Must not be too bad... our friends 10 year old likes them!
