Mailbox mod?

I'm posting in the propane section 'cause that's what I have. I assume that's OK?

I'm seriously considering installing a mailbox on my Masterbuilt 44 inch. After doing extensive research on what's been posted, I see that most everybody brings the duct out the back of the box, not the top.

What's the down side of coming out the top?

I'm with you, I have my material for the mod, but was planning on going out the top instead.

I don't think it would matter.

It may work better since heat rises.

​Exactly. I'm thinking about laying the box on its side. I can cut the flue into the flat side on the top and the lid would open to the side.
