This video - yes, it is an ad, usual caveats apply - by an accomplished science communicator, is long but covers a lot of ground:
◦ inventing a better grill scrubber (design & manufacturing)
◦ the global economy (a crap product is crap because of intentional design/build/marketing decisions, not simply because of geography) (also, reminder that Amazon is awful)
◦ the tool-&-die industry (processes and context)
Reducing so much complexity to one or another simple, glib slogan does an extraordinary disservice to the people involved - not just in manufacturing but also all the associated fields necessary to turn raw material into a purchased consumer product - so don't be that person. DO be the person that is curious enough to dig into details, and finds inspiration to learn something new.

Again, skip the politicizing, prejudicial antagonizing, and simple parroting of off-the-shelf opinions, please. Just think about your choices (in what you buy and in what you post).

Had a hard time keeping interested at the start of the video but got more interested the farther in I got. Needed something to watch during commercials lol!

I found it very interesting to say the least. I had no idea how bad we have dropped in manufacturing in this country. I've known for years that we have trained folks in many countries, and I have no problem with that. But to basically abandon all manufacturing in this country I had no idea. As far a the scrubber itself? No clue how it compares to other. I use something not designed for cleaning grills but works better than anything I ever tried before. I am all for paying a bit more for something Made In America, but most times there is nothing available.

One of those paint stripper pads that go into a drill or grinder. My grill is all stainless steel and I have no problems. I don't use it on the outside as it may make a mess of the finish. Not sure what it would do to cast iron grates but I'm sure it would remove any season on them.

Okay, I'm gonna say it, there is a sucker born every minute.

For $75 bucks, I could hire one of these made in the USA beauties to clean my grill for me.

I'm all for trying to support good quality American Made companies and products. That being said I question certain things being 3-5x more. Yes quality counts but depending on the product is it really that much better?
