So I am new to the forum and I know there are many threads about this already. However, I figure it will be easier to post fresh than read through many pages of previous posts. I am looking to purchase a smoker. I currently use my Weber 22.5" kettle for grilling and smoking. I'd like to purchase an actual smoker.

I am not looking to spend that much more then $400 if possible. I want something big enough to handle 3 or 4 racks of ribs at once and maybe some chicken pieces if it will fit. Does it make a difference if it's charcoal or propane? I have space in my yard for anything up to 60" wide.

Doing your research is a big part of the fun, you can get to know all the major products out there and make a well informed decision. I am looking to purchase a smoker. I don't have any personal experience but I believe that a 22.5" WSM will do this and come in at the price point you are looking for. Does it make a difference if it's charcoal or propane?
