My 94 year old mother in law is basically blind. She has an iPhone and can no longer work it.

Im trying to find a basic, preferable unlocked, flip phone that will answer a call by opening the phone, no button pressing needed To answer or hang up. Just open, talk, close. Do these still exist? If you have a recommendation please shoot it over. We live out of state and the only way to communicate is by phone and it’s getting real challenging since she cant see the iPhone screen to answer a call. Many thanks!

Flip phones are making a come back . I thought you could set any smart phone up to auto answer . My brother in law has the call go to his hearing aid .
I don't know much about how to do it , or how it works , but have seen the option on my phone .

We tried to set her iPhone up for Siri to answer it, but she doesn’t understand how to make it work and we need to go ultra basic. The only thing she uses the phone for is calls.

You want one of these...but they won't be available for awhile.

Or else one of these, which ironically are no longer made. So you may need to wait for the past to catch up with the future to find what you seek. :emoji_wink:

Verizon has a couple. My wife’s grandmother has one we pay for each month on our plan. Nothing fancy just a basic flip phone. Think it’s about $15 a month and the phone was free.

Flip phones are still offered at cell phone stores , plus they are all over the place for sale .
I have a Casio Ravine , and still have my Son's Casio boulder . Plus several others in the drawer .
That Casio Ravine is the best phone I've owned bar none . She doesn't need anything like that . Military grade , 100% waterproof and shockproof . I dropped it 30 feet off the ridge of a roof I was framing . Found it on a concrete slab ringing .
