Has anyone on here ever smoke lemons or other citrus? If u have what approach did u take, did u leave whole cut in half or segments? I was thinking about smoking some garlic and lemons to make an aoili for some Superbowl grub. Or maybe smoke some onions n garlic for a dip.:help:

I've smoked garlic and onions before-remove outer skins from garlic and onions and cut the onions in half. Place both in my vegetable grilling basket and place in the smoker.  I would imagine that you could do the same with lemons and limes. I would cut them in half to smoke and when making the aoili I would add some of the lemon zest. I'm thinking that the oils in the lemon skin will take on some of the smokey goodness.

Let us know how things turn out.

I threw some cherry tomatoes(whole), avacados (halved and pitted with some lime juice, cut side down), and halved limes, in a cold smoke using avacado dust. Gonna let it go for a bit. Will let you know how it turns out here in a while!
