Was wondering if the LEM metal gears would fit on the Kitchener from Northern, I thought I read on the site one time they were different.  I just ordered a set from Northern for backup but next time will get the metal ones.  I also wanted to get a spare o'ring and found out you can no longer order the o'ring by itself but you have to get the o'ring and the piston as a set.  This was only a month ago.  The gears were $9.60 and the piston and o'ring were $14.32.

I just installed the metal LEM gear set on my Northern stuffer last night, making hot sticks later today!! Do yourself a favor and spend the $$ on the LEM metal gears, I replaced the plastic set twice. The plastic set will probably be fine if all you're doing is brats, italians and other fresh sausage but the smaller diameter sticks require more force and the gears work alot harder IMO. Good luck whatever you decide!!
Cant justify the cost of new metal gears for 30 bucks plus shipping and handling for my  60 dollar 5 lb stuffer... It would be better to invest in a 15 lb stuffer. with metal gears.......Rex found them for 10 bucks,,,,

Mine is from Grizzly w plastic gears,as long as I take my time when doing sticks it seems to do fine. I know where Joe's coming from as I Know what kinda quantity he does. Oh and I purchased it for $60 and change few years back.

Mine was on the clearance rack at NT...... Last time I did 22 mm casing hotdogs the grears popped (slipped) twice... I make large batches and put my equipment through some stress. I am very hesitant to add water to my sausages. I try to add as little as posible just to help the meat go through the stuffer. its just the way I do sausage. Wouldnt hurt to have a back up. I would hate to go to the 30 lb stuffer for hot dogs... i would have to remove the motor and use the hand crank and it leaves 3 lbs at the bottom
