The intense sun and heat in FL make certain things difficult to grow. I’m trying a completely different method of growing this year. 44 spots to plant in the “downspouts”. I’ll also be running 5 5 gallon buckets using the Kratky method. I’ve never done any hydroponics, but I’ve probably got about 100 hours invested in research. Hoping it’s a bumper crop this year.
I’ve got 30 different seeds germinating in some “petri” dishes. Seedlings should be mounted on rock wool in about a week. I’ll post updates as I go. I’ve got about 200$ invested. I believe I spent more than that last year in good soil alone. Built a stand for the lights to be raised as they grow. Should be interesting gardening this year.

You guys in Fl have those great farmers markets! My brother has one at the flee market. Between that and his fish monger makes me want to move there. Good luck on the garden. We have same problem in Tx. I have tried pots but have to water every day. I going to try something this year!

Looks nice! I'll have to look up that method - never heard of it. I'm doing a raised planter box setup this year. Already have a bumper crop of tomatoes coming in as well as sweet peppers and jalapenos.

Good way to get those Vegetables grown in harsh climates. I found a setup like that in my Sons Back room, didnt have vegetables in it though :emoji_wink:

We are trying an outdoor vertical garden this year.

Another term for the Kratky method is deep water culture which is probably what you know it by.

It should be interesting John I've not seen the downspouts used in the Kratky method most I've seen were NFT systems. How are you going to fill the spouts and add nutrients to them? I'm looking forward to following your progress. I'm going to try to get some of my systems up and running this summer but am still repairing and altering high tunnels
