This one is for you Bearcarver Bearcarver .
Evey time I would see Bear using kraft sandwich spread I would say to myself next time I'm at the store I need to grab a jar of that stuff! Well I finally remembered to a couple weeks ago. Used it as tarter sauce with some fish and. the boys and I really liked it. I was looking forward to using it on a burger but hadn't got a chance to until Saturday. Went to a NWTF banquet and by the time left I was starving for a burger. (Probably had something to do with all the beers I had lol) any way I was ready to chow down and crash for the night.
So when I got in the house I made a 1/2lb patty and heated up the cast iron.

Sandwich spread and patty ready to go

Spread a little sandwich spread on each side of the bun

A slice of American cheese on each side

Got a nice crust on the burger in the cast iron.

All put together and ready to fill my belly!

It sure was good! Thanks Bearcarver Bearcarver . For turning me onto this stuff. I'm not sure how I went this long without ever having it!

Beers and a burger, how can you go wrong with that! Looks good. I too have looked at that sandwich spread a few times when at the store, might just have to give it a try

Looks good! I finally remembered to get some the other day as well. I made some ham and cheese sammies with it. I forgot how much I liked that stuff. I'm going to make some chicken salad sandwiches with it for work tomorrow.

The pictures were the easy part! Typing out the post would have been a different story! The way they make these cameras on these phones now they practically take the photos themselves. I did have to squint a little lol. This is also the reason I didnt post this thread immediately. I'm sure none of it would have made a bit if since.

Nice looking Burger, Travis!!!
I had been eating that stuff for over 60 years, but I never tried it on a Burger, until I was trying to match Burger King's Special Sauce, and all of a sudden it hit me----Wait a minute---Let's try Kraft Sandwich Spread. That was closer than any of my experiments!!!

Glad You Like It !!

So far the only thing I didn't care for it to be on was my Naked Drums & Thighs.
And I like Miracle Whip better on a cold Chicken Sammy.

Thanks Bear! This will definitely be kept in the fridge around here from now on. Its really just a great all purpose condiment.

This stuff looks good and all, but nothing beats homaemade sauce.
Derek717, give it a try if you get a chance its good stuff. And your absolutely right nothing beats a good homemade sauce. Ive made my own bbq sauce,(several different kinds) my own mayo using an immersion blender(good stuff) and my son and I canned I dont remember how many pints of homemade ketchup from our romas out of the garden..i know it was 3 bushels worth for the ketchup. Salad dressings, mustard, cheese sauces, all kinds of things. That beeing said I keep a lot of store baught stuff in the fridge . For my family we literally cook 95% of all the meals we eat. Making a homemade sauce for everything we do would be impossible. This stuff is a great go to spead/ sauce you can grab out of the fridge and know its going to be good. As the saying goes..." Dont knock it till you try it" lol. This will definitely be stocked in our fridge for now on. Its just to versatile not to.

Very valid points. Look up "Burger Glop Sauce" recipes and you can tweak yheyhem how you like. Very good stuff.

This is True nearly all of the time.
However I was searching for awhile & trying to come up with a match for MacDonalds' & Burger King's sauces for Big Mac & Whopper. All of the "Clones" I found weren't that great. I was tweaking them all kinds of ways.
So I put Kraft Sandwich Spread on a couple of my Deerburgers, and it was the winner.
So I quit trying to mix something that was already a Winner. In this case My Homemade wasn't even close.

Funny thing happened to me today, was walking through the grocery store and look what happened to fall into my cart

Not sure how it happened but guessing it was peer pressure! Now to make something it will taste good on. But with a small taste straight from the jar it has potential, wife even said it might make some tasty tuna salad

Ryan, I think this would be great in any kinda salad! Let us know what you end up doing with it. Ive been tossing around making a "sandwich spread" made with bologna/ham ground up and mixed with this stuff. Unusually make it with mayo and relish. But this stuff might be perfect!
