I am thinking about building a smoker I have a small electric one but would like to make something that I could do a whole pig on. Iv read a lot about barrels and how they don't hold heat my question is if I weld 3/8 rear in the outside

Barrel and put another barrel on the inside to create an air cushion will that be enough to hold heat in the body of the smoker sorry for two posts I'm doing this on my phone and pushed the wrong button

Thanks Dave I think that is what I'll try but if there are any other suggestions I'd like to hear them

You can  put fiberglass insulation  in the dead air space.  Fill the space but don't pack it in.  Full but loose.  You'll want to take the paper off of it.  Its a no brainier, but just in case.  :-)
