So I smoked a batch of summer sausage today and noticed my Inkbird PID temp display going crazy. Say my temp was set at 150°. When it got close to target temp, it would quickly start jumping from 149 to 155 to 147 to 150 and so forth. Would do that for about 5 seconds then quit and settle on a temp. On top of that, the displayed temp and real temp were 40° different. Has anyone had this issue? I am wondering if it’s worth messing with or bite the bullet and get an Auber Instrument controller. Is Auber that much better?

Auber is plug and play with the original Bradley. And with the MES a simple rewire, same with the analog Smokin-It just done a little different and I'm sure probably the same with other electric brands.

As far as settings go it depends on your smoker.I didn't have to stray to far from the stock settings to get my MES 30 where I wanted it to be.There are a couple of threads about Auber settings here in the forums.

But I would say before dropping any money on a new Auber I'd try to troubleshoot your Inkbird first. I believe JC in GB JC in GB has experience with the Inkbirds.
