Finally getting to play with my new inkbird thermometers and I’m kind of disappointed. Both are “wireless” which is nice however I’m kinda disappointed unless I’m doing something wrong. They are both suppose to have up to a 300’ range but if I have them outside my garage with it closed (maybe 35-40’ distance) they disconnect. They will also disconnect if the charging case (brain) isn’t sitting in the bottom storage grate on my kettle which is an issue today because of rain. I tried to have it right inside my garage with the door closed (about 5’ away from my grill) and won’t stay connected. I have 2 probes in 2 separate pork butts and the thermometer’s are less than 2” apart and ambient temp is reading 282* on one and 313* on another and the temp seems to not update very often bc when I open and closed the lid to see how fast it adjusts it doesn’t even move which is kind of annoying. Anyone deal with these issues on theirs or have any recommendations to try? I know inkbird made a post about not coming around anymore but looking for some peoples experience from here who have used them. I love the wireless but these have been more of a pain than tending to a stick burner so far in the 5 hours I’ve used them

May have to put it in a plastic lidded container or ziplock bag and move it higher on a shelf next to the grill or hang it from a handle IDK. The 300' is probably line of sight to the base and the more metal (garage door down?), walls or brick and no windows will reduce the range.
