bought some New Yorks bone in cheap 5$ pound tested out the open flame sear on my pellet grill came out pretty good , my only complaint is that didn't make it easier to open a metal rod or something because after it is hot I use a long screw driver not a deal breaker but an idea .

I know what you mean: many grills don't make it easy to open the sear station after the grill is fired up and hot. A rod could be a good idea. My grill grates have a horizontal "slot" across nearly the entire width of the grate making it much easier to open the sear station. Sorry I'm at work right now or I would take a picture of you.

Steaks look pretty yummy. Did you "reverse sear" them or cook them over the sear station the entire time?
