While I usually consider myself to be well above average at computer literacy, I have been stumped for a quite a while about something, and I finally am going to ask about it....

I have had some pretty good pictures of my past successes but never posted them. How do I put an image right in the body of the post, as opposed to an attaching a thumbnail image that viewers have to pick on? I did this with the one picture I have posted, but I see other threads on here where it looks like someone was able to do this without making it an attachment. I want to have this covered before I have my next success so I can more easily share some photos.

Thanks in advance!!

With some help from gypsyseagod I opened my own gallery here at SMF. Once you upload the pictures into that gallery there is a "Direct Link" address listed a little ways below the picture. If you click on the "Insert Image" button for your post, you can paste the "Direct Link" address in and that should make your picture appear.

Hope this helps.

One way you can do it and the way I do it is to use a photobucket account. You can sign up for free there. You basicly make a photo album online with it and then once your photos are uploaded there you can resize very easily with the options above the photos. Beside the photo is a box with a few different links. Click on the IMG link box and it automatically coppies the link. Then all you have to do is paste that link into your post. Thats it. Simple. Oh yes the uploading procedure is easy as pie as well.

there is only one bad about posting pics without thumbnails.... they are sometimes huge and some of your SMF members are still on dial up and would never be able to look at your pics unless we wait an hour..lol

just keep us in mind b4 you post full size pics..lol

Teacup,
I've been there with the dial up connection. Who'd have ever thought that surfing the internet could be something you could retire from....

I'll try and remember to keep them small...

Remember if you use Photobucket, near the upload image boxes, there is a blue link OPTIONS. Click on it and you can adjust you screen resolution. I use 800 x 600, but 640 x 480 is the standard.

Picture yes. Photos appear so large on a computer screen because the monitor has a lesser resolution than these newer larger megapixel cameras. To compensate, it enlarges the photo on the monitor.
