First of all good morning all, I've got some thoughts in my head and would like to see if anyone has tried them or had any input or better ideas. I was thinking of building a baffle plate (guess you would call it that) or a rack out of 1/4" ss to sit above the burner for a cast iron pan to put my chunks in and wondered if this would help with the smoking in my Smoke Hollow gas smoker.
Second i had a tought of building a pan to put some lump coal in for the smoking process and wondered if anyone here had any thoughts on this or has tried it.
Thanks in advance for any help with this

It will work..

but the only problem u might  have is , if the heat is to high the chunks will catch on fire.

If u make it ! make sure it is adjustable.

I myself once used a mini dutch oven and drilled small holes on the lid and I never had flare ups.

I have tried everything to make my smoke last longer in my gasser. The best luck I have had so far is to use big chunks, almost fist size. It  makes the best thin blue smoke and lasts for a couple of hours. I have also had good luck using the Amaze n smoker in my gasser. I have gotten upwards of 5 hours out of one load of dust.

The one thing that has made my smoke last longer . Was to replace the little chip pan with a bread loaf pan. I can put realy large chunks in it. It will hold 4x4 size hunks.
