Cut from the center thickest part of the pork shoulder . Has a bone in it .
They sell them here labeled as center cut , boneless or pork butt cut into steaks .
I've been cutting my own lately , because they're normally $3.79 a pound .
Two on the right are from the center , two on the left are boneless , cut from the thinner end .
A bit different muscle grouping , and size in the center cut .
Pork butt cut into steaks is the whole thing . Sliced and packaged . You'll get a few center cut , a couple nice boneless , and some smaller boneless plus the fatty end .
These were store bought , " butt cut into steaks "
You can see the size change .
BTW , that temp suggestion of 145 / 150 is a safe temp for pork but way under cooked for pork steaks .
Back in the mid 80's my Grandmother and her friend Louise were out grocery shopping together and it happened to be Friday 13th. On their way to the car some punk ran up and snatched Louise's purse out of her cart and took off. After that Grandma won't leave the house, use the stove or answer the phone if it was Friday the 13th! Lol. Sorry for sharing but thats what I thought of.
LOL . Don't be sorry , I get it .
Several years ago my Daughter bought 2 of the same item at the store , and it only rang up one .
I told her to go back in and pay for the second one . Wouldn't do it .
Going into the house she tripped and fell .
Then putting the bag on the counter , knocked the toaster off
The next day her phone charger quit . I found her rooting through the trash looking for the receipt so she could go back and pay . Lol .
Yep, I shy away from that number, always have. I would select another package also. But, anyway, great looking steaks on the grill, Ray! What did you slather them with?
Me too . Not worth the chance .
That sauce was probably SBR's or Country Bob's .
I did regular Maul's on the last batch . That ship has sailed for me .
